The Wairarapa Walking Festival is a celebration of walking to enjoy Wairarapa landscapes and heritage. Join us for 30 walks across the Wairarapa. There are a wide variety of walks, including Urban heritage, Māori Heritage, coastal and farm walks, tramping, walks with dogs, stream conservation and night sky viewing. All walks require registration, some have a charge but many are free.

Jogja International Heritage Walk (JIHW) is an international walking event held by Jogja Walking Association as the organizing committee, which concept covers not only health, but also green environment, education and communication and tourism and economy through a thousand tree planting on Karang Tengah, Bantul slope. Encouraging students’ participation on walking activities with international walkers and empowering local people as well as the small and medium enterprises in Prambanan and Imogiri area as the venue of the event.

In every early November, a festival of an international walking, ‘’The Japan Three-Day March,’’ is held in an abundant hiki hill centered on Higashimatsuyama City, Saitama. Now, the Japan Three-Day March becomes the world’s 2nd largest event behind ‘’International Four Days Marches’’ held in Nijmegen, the Netherland, and gather 100 thousand people from all over Japan and the world in three days. Every Wednesday before Ascension, we carry out the already traditional march from Bremgarten to the Rigi. In 1975 the march to the Rigi was carried out for the first time as training for the 100 km run in Biel. Since then, hikers have been meeting every year for this special night march up the Rigi - for a chat and to experience the sunrise on the Rigi.

The Lysefjord is located in Sandnes and Strand municipalities, Rogaland county, Fjord-Norway. The 42-kilometer-long fjord was originally a river valley, created by creeks and rivers eroding through an old plain landscape. Through a series of ice ages, this valley was carved out by moving glaciers and transformed into its current deep U-shape. The aim of the festival is to gather people who like to walk and experience Lysefjorden together, in new ways. The program is full of exciting joint trips, many of which are on new and/or unknown paths, and several cultural elements. On Saturday, all roads lead to Preikestolen BaseCamp, where the festival host offers a joint dinner and outdoor concert. Discover Lysefjorden!

Passing castles, manors, mills and churches that time seems to have forgotten; through forests filled with life; over undulating farmland and with the coastline never far away, this 75km-trail is a mixture of nature’s and people’s best creations. In 2014 the inaugural event had just a few hundred participants, mainly Danes. In 2019 this number was 1000 and counted trekkers from 37 different countries. May 6-8 is the premiere of Varberg Walkabout - a new walking festival for the joy of movement, presence of nature and community, which premieres in Åkulla outside Varberg this spring. We invite you to a weekend of hiking, music, campfire, yoga, BBQ and nature experiences in the forest and by the sea.

The Vierdaagse Yser is an international march organised by the Belgian Defence, in partnership with the municipality of Koksijde and the cities of Diksmuide, Poperinge and Ypres. This annual activity on the coast and in the Westhoek is open to civilian as well as military participants from Belgium and abroad and pursues three main goals: - Strengthening the relationship between the Belgian Defence and the society by bringing military and civilian participants together during a shared sporting activity. - Commemorating with great respect the people who perished during the two World Wars, in particular those who fell in the Westhoek during World War I. - Helping walkers uncover the historical and tourism value of the Westhoek and the southwest coast.

The four routes of Wandelvierdaagse Eerbeek show the beautiful varied landscape of the Eerbeek area: from the forest route on the first day, the Loenen meadows and heath on the second day to the farmland scenery of Hall on the third day. The fourth day is traditionally dominated by the village of Eerbeek and the entry with the Eerbeek Fair as the end point.

The Wandel4daagse Schoorl offers you a special trip every day through the area of ​​Staatsbosbeheer in the Schoorlse Duinen. Beach, surf, dunes, forests, dikes and polder, with a great diversity of birds, animals and plants. The extremely green Wandel4daagse "Schoorlse Duinen" exudes purity and adventure in particular. You mainly walk through the untouched nature of the Noordhollands Nature Reserve. You will visit the Hondsbossche Zeewering with a completely new stretch of beach between Camperduin and Petten. The Lieserpfad is considered one of the most beautiful hiking trails in the Eifel. It runs from Boxberg in the Vulkaneifel to the town of Lieser on the Moselle. A total length of approximately 74 kilometers. The Lieserpfad follows the river Lieser, which rises in Boxberg and flows into Lieser on the Moselle. At the beginning, the Lieser is still a “narrow” stream, further on it becomes a river. The Lieserpfad is walked in 4 stages during this journey. The entire trip on the Lieserpad is extremely varied and leads along beautiful slopes with narrow paths, through forests over wider paths, bridges over the Lieser, steep slopes but also flatter parts. The area is almost free of cars and railway lines. Beautiful nature and beautiful views guaranteed. You definitely have to climb a few times...

You are welcome at the Penders Voetzorg Leudal Wandel 4-daagse. With our clearly described and fully signposted routes of 5 km, 7.5 km, 10 km and 12.5 km you can enjoy the beautiful nature reserve Leudal and its surroundings.

Wandel4daagse Hilvarenbeek is a great event every year in which many participants, about 1500, participate. Every year, routes are set out at 5 distances. You can choose from 3, 5, 8, 12 and 15 km per day. The uniqueness of the W4D in Hilvarenbeek is that the primary school children of 5 schools often participate in class, under the supervision of auxiliary parents (1 parent in 5 children). Depending on the school group of the child, they walk a distance.

The routes from Diever are in the national parks of the Drents-Friese Wold and the Dwingelderveld and through the rural nature reserves of Ooster- and Westerzand, Leggelderveld and the Holtingerveld.

Hoornaar, a small postage stamp in the Alblasserwaard, was the bustling heart of the cycling/walking activities of the Four Days Marches Alblasserwaard for four days and… the place where approximately 5,000 visitors enjoyed entertainment for young and old.

Strandvierdaagse is a four-day walking holiday on the beach, including hotel stays, very extensive dinners, packed lunches for the road, drinks and ice cream in beach pavilions and transport of your luggage. Do you dare?

The  Strand6Daagse is a fully catered six-day independent recreational hiking camping holiday over the beach from Hoek van Holland to Den Helder. On the way, participants will only spend the night in their own tents at the camping sites in Wassenaar, Noordwijk aan Zee, IJmuiden, Egmond aan Zee and Callantsoog provided by the organisation, municipalities and associations. In 1959 the spiritual father, Henk Horsman, set out for the first time with 37 enthusiastic participants. The journey then ran from Den Helder to Hoek van Holland. After having run against the wind for a number of years, it was decided to turn the tour around.

The Sevenumse Wandel4daagse is a 4 day activity for young and old where you enjoy beautiful marked routes through the beautiful landscape of Sevenum and Kronenberg. The Sevenumse Wandel4daagse is suitable for everyone who enjoys walking, from novice and recreational walker to experienced and passionate walker.

5000+ participants took part in the Sallandse 4-daagse in the past year. The number of participants is steadily growing, for good reason. This four-day tour goes through a beautiful landscape between IJssel and Holterberg.

Mölke organizes "The  Reggestreek WandelVierDaagse ".  Every day there is a surprising walk through the Regge region. The walking routes lead through forests, idyllic villages and breathtaking estates and farmlands. If you don't want to walk along for four days, it is also possible to join one or more days. Alone, with friends or with your family.

With the combined forces of music and theatre, we are creating a new eventful cultural festival concept on three walking routes, which we regard as our stage, around the meaning and invaluable value of freedom. At the same time, we allow our audience to take a walking time journey that takes them from the impressive history from then to now. The walking festival tells, moves, surprises, makes you quiet and makes you laugh!

Texel has surprisingly many different landscapes. Forests, dunes, beach, the Slufter, salt marshes and mud flats from the Wadden coast. It also has wide polders behind the dikes. In Om't Eiland we want as much of it as possible to these landscapes. Om't Eiland is a walking camping trip around the island of Texel. This multi-day hiking camping trip is a varied route with a high level of holiday feeling. this trip is in collaboration with the Texel walking association 't Gouden Boltje was created and is partly derived of an existing route the 'Texelpad' of the Nivon.

The Heuvelland4daagse is a walking festival with the aim of letting walkers enjoy the nature, sights and culture in South Limburg. The walks go through the hilly Limburg landscape around Valkenburg aan de Geul, mostly on field roads and forest paths. Every day you can enjoy all the beauty that Limburg has to offer in terms of nature, beautiful views and picturesque villages. You can choose from five distances: 7-14-21-28 and 42 kilometers.

Friese Elfsteden Wandeltochten (11-Cities Walking Tour) is a 207 kilometer long tour that leads the walkers in 5 days through the historical Frisian 11 cities. Between the cities you can walk through the vast meadow landscape and picturesque villages. During the trip you can enjoy the panoramic views, the beautiful fields with grazing cows, Friesian horses and the rich history of the landscape. The 11-Cities Walking Tour is traditionally organized in the week of Ascension Day.

The Bollenstreek will receive a major hiking spectacle in October: De Duin en Bollen Vierdaagse. With this walking event, as a large flower garden, beautifully situated behind the sea and dunes, you will discover the versatility of the region with beach, dunes, bulb fields and charming villages where the residents show their very best side.

From Ascension Day to the following Sunday, you can walk in the beautiful nature of Southeast Drenthe. This part of the Netherlands with its tranquility, endless space and picturesque villages, means that you can get away from it all. If you participate in the Drentse Wandel 4-daagse, you can walk 10, 15, 20, 30 or 40 km for one, two, three or four days. Alone, with friends, with the whole family or together with your dog. Those who travel 30 or 40 km. walking, often do this as training for Nijmegen or Apeldoorn.

The Achterhoek has long been an attractive combination of culture and nature. Special museums, picturesque towns, rare beautiful gardens and of course the beautiful scenic landscape are the well-known ingredients of a holiday in one of the most beautiful regions of our country. It is much less known that the Achterhoek also offers its visitors and residents one of the most beautiful and without doubt the most charming four-day hiking trails in the country; the Barchemse 4 Daagse. The charm of the Barchemse is its small scale. A maximum of fifteen hundred hikers take part in the smallest four-day walking tour in the Netherlands. The “Barchemse” is therefore a must for nature lovers and connoisseurs. Walk at your own pace.

On the way to the most beautiful walking event in the Netherlands when the most beautiful routes of the Achterhoek will be walked in Achterhoekse Wandelvierdaagse. The starting point of  the event is the center (Simonsplein) of  Doetinchem , where all participants gather to walk routes of approximately  12, 20, 30 and 40 kilometers  through the most beautiful parts of the  Achterhoek . Whichever distance you choose, you can indulge in the rich cultural history and beautiful nature of the Achterhoek. The routes lead through forests, idyllic villages and breathtaking estates and farmlands.  

The most important walking event in Groningen (since 2006) is the Wandelfestival Tocht om de Noord. The discovery tour through Groningen with new themes, new cultural expressions, new villages, new routes, new crossings every year! Always according to the first 2 lines of the Groningen national anthem: From laurelszee to dollard tou and from Drenthe to 't wad! A cultural voyage of discovery that surprises the hiker year after year with a new Groningen adventure!

Wandel4daagse Oldenzaal  takes place every year between Ascension and Pentecost. More than 850 walkers took part during the Four Days Marches spread over 4 days. The route led over, among other things, the Hulsbeek, the Lonnekerberg, the Rhododendronlaan, the Tankenberg and ended on Friday evening in the Palthetuin.

Four beautiful routes have been set out for the four-day walking tour. They will take you through the Gooi, Eemland and the Vecht region. The routes always start and end in Laren. Nowadays mainly known for Gooische Vrouwen, expensive cars, fashion stores, seeing and being seen, but at the end of the 19th century the village mainly attracted artists. Laren was discovered by Jozef Israels as a place with still 'unspoilt' spots. In his wake, other painters also came to Laren in search of picturesque locations. Anton Mauve was one of the first to buy a house on Naarderstraat. His paintings with Laren sheep are world famous and even now adorn the place name signs on all the roads in and out of the village. The Wandel4daagse Haarlem is an annual event during the Ascension weekend. Four days through the most beautiful areas of South Kennemerland. Experience the wonder of walking in an environment that naturally attracts attention.

The routes go through the historic city of Deventer as well as through the surrounding nature reserves, the Bannink, Nieuw Rande, the Stadslanden, the floodplains. Through villages such as Twello, Schalkhaar, Lettele and Bathmen and Diepenveen.

During the Wandel4daagse Bergen, the walkers spend a day along the inner garden of Maasduinen Staete. Of course, exercise coach Dien did not let that pass her by. That is why she and a number of residents and volunteers participate in the Wandel4daagse in Bergen every year. After the walk they finish with a well-deserved cup of coffee. The walking day is for young and old. Participants can choose from different distances. The routes are also accessible for walkers and wheelchairs. And therefore 'walkable' for everyone. You can go for a walk in Venray! Art, culture and nature come together in the municipality of Venray. It is excellent recreation in the center and in the surrounding church villages where a rich history and diversity of landscapes can be admired on foot. Meerdaags Wandelevenement Venray has been in existence since 2018. During this event in the first weekend of June you walk through Venray and you walk along the church villages. During the walks, the versatility of Venray can be experienced via the various routes. Will you walk with us to enjoy the open air and the beautiful varied nature!

The International 4daagse Apeldoorn, which is entirely organized and carried out by volunteers, is characterized not only by nature, but also by the cozy atmosphere . The Sports Office organizes the "Wiesbadener Wandertage" in cooperation with the sports clubs. During the events, routes in Wiesbaden can be "hiked" on Sundays and public holidays.

Wanderfreunde Lindewitt eV organized their international popular hike. Routes between 5 and 15 km were offered, starting from the school in the forest in Lindewitt.

During the Hiking Weeks, Rothenburg is set off for excursions to the surrounding area; the meeting place with the guides is usually the old town and participation in the excursions is free (unless otherwise specified in the program). From the mini-pilgrimage on the paths leading to St. James around Rothenburg (together with the parish priest Gußmann) through the forest walk with the forest ranger and outings in the taverns to the classic hikes on the many trails in around Rothenburg, the possibilities for hiking are numerous. The Rhön Hiking Day took place in Münnerstadt for the first time in 2010 across state and district borders. Since then it has established itself as a hiking event in the region, in which several thousand hikers from all over Germany take part every year.

We're going hiking again!  And you can be there. This year we are on the road for several days in the Fichtelgebirge with its mountains and rock towers. We explore the untouched Egertal in the border area to the Czech Republic, find our way through rock labyrinths and get to know the mysterious legends, history and regional cuisine in the Fichtelgebirge.

Accompanied by expert hiking guides, you could discover the varied landscape, history and culture of the Bergisches Wanderland. From short guided tours to long day hikes, everything was there. For example, there were hikes with canoe trips, health and pilgrimage hikes, herbal hikes, photo hikes, hikes with musical or artistic performances or donkey trekking. There were also some early bird and after-work hikes again, so that working hikers could also get their money's worth.

Discover the Südeifel during five guided hikes. Each route offers its own charms and an unforgettable experience of nature. With a regional snack, you will then find out what culinary delights the Südeifel has to offer. If you want, you can also book the hiking week with an overnight stay.

The Oberlausitzer Hunderter (OLH) is a traditional hiking event organized by the Wilthen local group of friends of nature. From year to year other routes are selected and offered to hikers who are interested. The spectrum ranges from beginner tours of 10-15km to long distances of around 100km. This route is traditionally completed in 2 stages, always starting with the 50km night route, followed by the 50km day tour. The middle routes between 17 and 35 km in length are particularly popular with families. Here you often meet large groups of hikers who discover Upper Lusatia around Wilthen and the surrounding area together.

The starting point and focal point of the Globetrotter hiking event is the market square in Bad Schandau in the heart of the Saxon Switzerland national park region. From there, 39 hikes start this year and bring you closer to the fascination of Saxon Switzerland on 520 kilometers of hiking trails. In addition to many popular hiking classics, there are some new tours with the wild herb hike, the via ferrata tour to the Schäferwand via the Elbe Cycle Path and the return to the Bohemian hiking trail network. With the trail running tours and test tours of the Deuter, Leki, Primus & Scarpa brands, we want to keep our finger on the pulse of the times.

Together with the Interest Group of Mining History Hiking Guides and with the support of other associations, the Freiberg Tourist Association is organizing the Mining History Hiking Days in the Freiberg Revier for the seventh time this year, to which those interested in mining and hikers from the region are cordially invited.

The Festival Mille Pas aux 1000 Étangs, created in 2003 by the Tourist Office, is the oldest hiking festival in France. It runs  from April to July and brings together an average of  15,000 participants per year. The success of the Festival is based on the fact that the circuits are ephemeral (marking exclusive to the day) and change every year. The idea is to introduce both locals and tourists to places that are usually inaccessible (private trails and ponds, unmarked paths and closed historical heritage).

Since 2009 , the Hiking Festival has revealed the riches and secrets of the towns and villages of the Pays d'Aubagne and the Etoile. The  Garlaban  offers itself as a star, but the ridges of  Mont Julien , the breathtaking landscapes of  Sainte-Baume  or the paths of  the Mining Country are not left out. Throughout the Festival you will be able to discover the stories of these massifs, towns and villages of the territory.

Experience the Island’s breathtaking landscapes – via rugged walks along the circuitous Raad Ny Foillan coastal path, gorgeous 360 degree views available from the Island’s many fells, and from the charm and tranquillity afforded by numerous countryside footpaths.

Co. Wicklow ‘The Garden of Ireland’, is renowned worldwide for its scenic beauty, offering a variety of walking challenges – from woodlands and rolling hills to wild craggy mountain climbs. The county lies just south of Dublin on the East Coast of Ireland. It is home to the largest area of unbroken high raised ground in Ireland, covering almost the same area as that of Mont Blanc, approximately 50 km long by 40 km wide. The Festival is based in the Brockagh Resource Centre with many of the walks taking us through Wicklow Mountains National Park. In Sperrins & Killeter Walking Festival walkers of all ages and abilities have the chance to get outside and explore the beauty, history and heritage of the Sperrins and Killeter regions. Walks are available at a variety of levels including easy strolls (perfect for families and budding nature photographers), moderate treks and challenging hill walks across some of the country's most dazzling landscapes.

The rugged countryside of Omagh and The Sperrins region is some of the most beautiful in Ireland. The stunning natural blend of peaks, forests, moors, valleys, lakes and rivers makes the area a firm favourite for walkers, cyclists, paddlers and swimmers. The walking festival, delivered by Far and Wild on behalf of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, offers a series of walks which will feature two grades of difficulty; a moderate 8km walk or a challenging 12km walk. The walks will be led by experienced guides beginning at the Gortin Glen Forest Park (Saturday) and An Creagán (Sunday) with transport being provided to the start of each walk.

The three challenge walks os Castlerock Walkfest have amazing views, on a clear day you can even see Donegal, the Sperrins and Scotland.  The Grangemore Walk takes you for a circular walk over ancient sand dunes.  Families enjoy the fun of our Family Walk and our History Walks are a stroll with interesting facts about Castlerock and Earl Bishop Hervey of Downhill Demesne. Ever thought of trying Nordic Walking, we have an instructor and poles ready for you to try.  Explore the Castlerock Moors with an archaeologist, or just come to get in your 10,000 steps, while enjoying the banter.  Don’t forget you need to book if you want to do any of the walks.

Each weekend during the month of May, you will be led on a series of walks, 5 inland and 5 coastal trails exploring the Vale of Glamorgan, led by your guide Chris Jones. Along the way you will be met by interesting characters who will tell you tales of time gone by, visit some amazing places as you pass by on your walk, be joined by local historians who will share stories of local folklore and sample some great local delicacies in the many pubs and café’s you will discover en-route.

The Vale of Glamorgan situated on the coast between the Gower and Cardiff, offers many varied walking routes. The Vale, as it's known locally, includes the southernmost point of mainland Wales, fertile rolling countryside and the dramatic Heritage Coast, with towering cliffs and remote beaches. During the Vale of Glamorgan Walking Festival,  you can enjoy a spectacular variety of walks for all levels, discovering a maze of footpaths, country lanes, historic villages and churches, along with fine dining and country inns.

Fforest Fawr UNESCO Global Geopark is set within the Brecon Beacons National Park in south Wales. It comprises the western half of the National Park, stretching from Llandovery in the north to the edge of Merthyr Tydfil in the south, from Llandeilo in the west to Brecon in the east. Fforest Fawr UNESCO Global Geopark aims to promote the wider understanding of the area’s heritage – not just geological, but other aspects of its natural history and the wider cultural heritage – and to encourage the development of sustainable tourism based upon that heritage for the benefit of both residents and visitors to the area.

Corwen sits with the whole Berwyn Mountain Ridge behind it and walks from the town itself can take visitors to Liberty Hall and on to the highest point in the Dee Valley and Clwydian Range 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty', Moel Fferna at 630 metres high. The Berwyn Ridge contains the peaks of Cadair Bronwen (784 m), Cadair Berwyn (827 m) and Moel Sych (827m). Corwen makes a great base for walks on this vastly underrated range of mountains. In total, there are twenty four peaks over 600 metres high in the Berwyn Mountains. With cafes and restaurants, hotels, guest houses, caravan parks and campsites all within close proximity and with some of the best walks in the land, we assure you that both the welcome and the countryside will ensure that you return to Corwen again and again.

At 1,345 meters, to summit Ben Nevis is the ultimate challenge for those looking to reach the highest point in the British Isles. Located in the western end of the Grampian Mountains close to the town of Fort William, this dominating mountain is affectionately known locally as “The Ben”. Your Ben Nevis trek begins early as you head out at dawn, taking in the surroundings as you ascend this now ancient volcano, on whose summit you’ll often find patches of snow all year round. You’ll follow in the footsteps of James Robertson, a botanist from Edinburgh, who was the first person to climb “The Ben" in August 1771, and in the company of your fellow trekkers you’ll reach the summit and claim victory standing at the highest point in the UK.

Walkfest celebrates the 70th anniversary of the North York Moors National Park with a series of walks following the coastal stretches of the Cleveland Way National Trail, giving you a chance to walk linear stretches of the trail (with transport provided). There will also be a special walk delving into the 700th anniversary of the Battle of Byland, a significant but largely forgotten battle at Sutton Bank.

The Annual South Downs Way Walk is an organised nine day walk along the full 100 mile length of the South Downs Way, one of England's finest and most popular national trails. During the past 43 years it has been enjoyed by hundreds of people from all over the world. It is, by tradition, a supported rather than a guided walk, with everyone free to walk at their own pace each day. However, a team of experienced leaders will walk the South Downs Way with you and you can rest assured that there will always be knowledgeable people nearby to help you with directions, first aid or just a friendly smile.

Stonehouse Walking Festival celebrates the wide range of scenic walks possible around the Stonehouse area, also showcasing some walks having added specialised interest. The North Wessex Downs Walking Festival celebrated the 50th Anniversary of this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Coleford Area Walking Festival has been a collaborative project led by Coleford Area Partnership and Coleford Town Council.
