Ben Nevis Trek

At 1,345 meters, to summit Ben Nevis is the ultimate challenge for those looking to reach the highest point in the British Isles. Located in the western end of the Grampian Mountains close to the town of Fort William, this dominating mountain is affectionately known locally as “The Ben”.

Your Ben Nevis trek begins early as you head out at dawn, taking in the surroundings as you ascend this now ancient volcano, on whose summit you’ll often find patches of snow all year round.

You’ll follow in the footsteps of James Robertson, a botanist from Edinburgh, who was the first person to climb “The Ben" in August 1771, and in the company of your fellow trekkers you’ll reach the summit and claim victory standing at the highest point in the UK.

You’ll also receive advice on the kit you’ll need to face the elements, and training to make sure you’re in the best shape possible to go the distance.

You can look forward to support from our team of highly trained mountain guides on the day. And in addition, our fantastic team of staff and volunteers will greet you with a warm welcome as you arrive.

They’ll also celebrate your success as you finish your challenge, with a post trek reception and medal for every trekker to wear with pride.

You’ll leave with stories to tell of your amazing adventure and the friends you made along the way, confident that you’ve helped Marie Curie offer vital care to people and families living with a terminal illness.
