At 1,345 meters, to summit Ben Nevis is the ultimate challenge for those looking to reach the highest point in the British Isles. Located in the western end of the Grampian Mountains close to the town of Fort William, this dominating mountain is affectionately known locally as “The Ben”.
Your Ben Nevis trek begins early as you head out at dawn, taking in the surroundings as you ascend this now ancient volcano, on whose summit you’ll often find patches of snow all year round.
You’ll follow in the footsteps of James Robertson, a botanist from Edinburgh, who was the first person to climb “The Ben" in August 1771, and in the company of your fellow trekkers you’ll reach the summit and claim victory standing at the highest point in the UK.
