The Rhön Hiking Day took place in Münnerstadt for the first time in 2010 across state and district borders. Since then it has established itself as a hiking event in the region, in which several thousand hikers from all over Germany take part every year.

The 12th Rhön Hiking Day will take place from September 23rd to 25th, 2022 in Bad Bocklet. In addition to herb hikes, forest bathing and wayside shrine hikes, the Hochrhöner can also be experienced on a 3-day hike.

About a year ago, Bad Kissingen was named a World Heritage Site as part of the "Great Spa Towns of Europe". For those interested in culture, there is a hike to Bad Kissingen including a guided tour of the World Heritage Site.

If you want, you can also use the bus at 5.10 p.m. for the return trip to Bad Bocklet. (Free with a guest card, otherwise you have to pay the fare.)

The hike is accompanied by the hiking guide Theresia Wöltche .

Exercising in nature provides us with additional oxygen in the brain and the continuous change of environment activates the “grey cells”. In this training, we combine specific movement exercises with additional cognitive tasks, among other things, and thus provide a training stimulus for the brain and the neuronal network.

Each "coordination walk" contains elements from playful thinking and movement exercises that have a positive effect on working memory, information processing speed, concentration and memory.

After refreshment, you can walk back to Bad Bocklet.

The participants of this culinary hike set off for Grossenbrach together with Alexander Höfling .

In between there is a stop on the meadow orchards. There, the participants will learn interesting facts about the local fruit varieties as part of a short guided tour.

Then it's on to distiller master Stefan Metz . There the hikers end the evening with a schnapps tasting.

The participants take the Kreuzberg shuttle together with hiking guide Thorn Plöger to the Guckas Pass.

From there you can walk to the Kreuzberg monastery. Once at the top there is the possibility of a stop. Those who wish can visit the monastery church.

After a short rest, it goes around the Kreuzberg and back to the monastery grounds. Now it's time for a second rest.

Then the Kreuzberg shuttle takes you back to Bad Bocklet.

It doesn't matter whether you're an experienced walker or a complete beginner, everyone is welcome on the Panorama Walk. Susanne Reuss leads the Nordic walking group along the Franconian Saale and with a wonderful view of the forest around Bad Bocklet.

Susanne Reuß devotes the first part of the route to a brief introduction to the technique of Nordic Walking, the rest of the route is dedicated to enjoying nature.
