The Heuvelland4daagse is a walking festival with the aim of letting walkers enjoy the nature, sights and culture in South Limburg.
The walks go through the hilly Limburg landscape around Valkenburg aan de Geul, mostly on field roads and forest paths. Every day you can enjoy all the beauty that Limburg has to offer in terms of nature, beautiful views and picturesque villages.
You can choose from five distances: 7-14-21-28 and 42 kilometers.
The routes are marked with arrows and ribbons. A rest and rest area has been set up after every 7 to 8 kilometers.
Almost everyone can participate in this four-day event, especially the distance of 7-14 and 21 km is doable for any healthy person, without the need for training. The distances of 28 and 42 km obviously require some training. The hilly terrain becomes increasingly difficult with increasing distance. It is therefore wise, especially if you are not very well trained, to choose the right distance.
The Heuvelland4daagse 2022 will take place from 11 to 14 August. The Heuvelland4daagse is now known to many hikers at home and abroad.
Due to the Corona virus, the Heuvelland4daagse has been canceled in 2020 and 2021. In 2019, more than 7,700 hikers put on their hiking boots to participate in this hiking event. The Limburg Heuvelland has been declared a 5-star landscape. Embedded between Belgium and Germany, the landscape has a foreign appearance. The great variation in the rolling landscape, with its stream and dry valleys, winding paths through forests and meadows make the Heuvelland4daagse an experience. The walks are not suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs.
