CONFERENCES

Nothing is more precious than time.

?️Thursday 9 June 2022
? Hours21.00 -22.30
? Villa Lechi | Via G. Verdi - Erbusco (BS)

We will talk about it with Andrea Spinelli , born in 1973, born and raised in Catania.

Citizen of the world , adopted by Friuli Venezia Giulia, he loves to feel like a wanderer and doesn't like words: adenocarcinoma of the head of the pancreas in an advanced inoperable state is the disease that has accompanied him since 2013 and that he tries to keep at bay (even) by walking .

Because - he and the doctors who are studying his case have discovered - this activity stimulates the immune system : you do not heal by walking - of course - but maybe you live better and longer. Since that day, in fact, after the life-saving therapy, he has regained his strength and to date he has walked over 26,000 kilometers.

Andrea talks about it on social media and in two books: If I walk alive - If we die of cancer while we live (Ediciclo, 2018) and Il caminante - Walker, pilgrim and wayfarer (Edicycle, 2020).

He has been living since 2020 with his wife and a dog in the camper that they called " Tano the seagull ".

Over the horizon.

Friday 10 June 2022
? 9.00pm-10.30pm
?Palazzo Marchetti of Montestrutto | Via Martinengo, 2 (Church square) - Erbusco (BS)

The extreme horizon is the farthest part that our gaze can reach but, if with imagination and creativity we try to go further, we will be able to give shape to our dreams, reach our goals, face the challenges that our existence offers us. even knowing that we could also fail. It is by following this mantra that Hervé, mountaineer and writer, has shaped his life, instinctively aimed at discovery and adventure in the mountains.

In Hervé's conferences you will not find the obvious exaltation of a champion of the extreme, rather what lies behind the activity of mountaineering, where the courage of decisions is always intertwined with fragility and fear; on the wall as in life.

The author: Hervé Barmasse.
Hervé Barmasse is an alpinist and director of mountain films. Alpine guide of the Matterhorn for four generations, his name is linked to important ascents made all over the world, from the Alps to Patagonia, from China to Pakistan. On his home mountain, the Matterhorn, Hervé left his mark in an incisive way until he became the mountaineer who, among new routes, first winter climbs and first solo climbs, made the most exploits.

In 2017 he became the protagonist of an exemplary ascension in the Himalayas by climbing the South Face of Shisha Pangma 8027m in an alpine style in just 13 hours. The mountain inside published by Laterza is his first literary effort (May 2015), a book in which the mountaineer comes after the man who also faces extraordinary feats. In 2021 his second book, Cervino the legendary mountain published by Mondadori Electa in the Rizzoli illustrati series is a tribute to the mountain symbol of the Alps and of mountaineering.

Paid event: € 10.00.

On 16 September 2018 - at Villa Welsperg, Primiero San Martino di Castrozza, in Trentino - he achieved the record for the longest single line in the world of barefoot people in the mountains, to promote a more respectful and conscious relationship with Nature.

Saturday 11 June 2022
? 9.00pm-10.30pm
?Borgo Pieve | Via Castello - Erbusco (BS)

The journey is woman: women on the way in Italy and in the world.
The numbers tell us that in Italy more and more women are walking the paths and trails. In recent years, after the Camino de Santiago, overtaking has also happened to us.

Ilaria Canali will tell us data that prove it, the result of the first research survey conducted on women on the way in March through the channels of the National Women on the Way Network. Beyond the data and numbers, she will tell us some stories of hikers, pilgrims and wayfarers. A compelling, choral and international storytelling that will reach from Italy to women on their way to America, starting from the incredible story of Emma Gatewood on the Appalachian Trail from the book "The Lady of the Appalachians" by Ben Montgomery, published by Terra di Mezzo.

The lady of the Appalachians.
3,300 km on foot across the United States: the incredible story of Emma Gatewood.

She was 67 years old and was the first woman to walk the Appalachian Trail on the east coast of the United States alone, and the first person to have done so three times. The book "The Lady of the Appalachians" by Ben Montgomery, published by Terre di Mezzo, tells the story of her.

With Ilaria Canali, creator of the project of the National Women on the Way Network and the Girls in Gamba community, we talk about Emma Gatewood and the phenomenon of women on the way in Italy and around the world.

The numbers tell us that in Italy more and more women are walking the paths and trails; in recent years, after the Camino de Santiago, overtaking has also taken place here.

Ilaria Canali is about to publish the first Sentimental Guide to the Paths of Italy - For women who never stop (Altrigianato), the result of the first research survey conducted on women on the move.
