4-day Paramaribo Suriname

The beautiful walks start late in the afternoon at a pleasant temperature. The 4-day course is flat, paved and free from everyday road users. Along the way we have enough aid stations with free water, fruit and various refreshments.
The unique walking scenery in the jungle, with forest giants, lianas, native flowers and plants and the real jungle sounds, leave an indelible impression on you.
The beautiful hotel where you stay in Paramaribo is all comfort and fully equipped. During the tour you will spend the night in simple, neat lodges.
When traveling through Suriname, the rich Surinamese cuisine should not be missed. Whether at the breakfast buffet, the hot lunch or dinner, everything you find on your plate will leave you wanting more.
Besides the 4 days of Paramaribo you will discover Suriname, the country with a melting pot of various cultures! The historic city center of Paramaribo dates back to colonial times and has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 2002 because of the predominantly wooden buildings. 
We take you on a journey in which the beauty of Suriname and its unique places becomes visible in a natural way, without many words. In the jungle you can brave some turbulent rapids by boat. You will bathe under waterfalls and you will get acquainted with the Maroon and Indian culture. Some other unique highlights are the jungle walk, spotting giant sea turtles that lay eggs on the beautiful sandy beaches of Galibi, located on the Atlantic Ocean and spotting dolphins and caimans.

About 5,000 participants walk through the streets of Paramaribo for four days, swinging their hips and dancing. Most participants run in groups, the others are all individual runners. Enthusiastic is the audience to encourage the walkers of the 4-day. We assume that Covid-19 is far behind us and otherwise it will be encouraged with an appropriate distance of 1.5 meters. With a pleasant sun, refreshing gusts of wind, various artists and an exuberant crowd, all the ingredients for a successful 4-day are present.

The 4-day is from 6 to 9 September.
Choose from an average of 15 km. per day.
Start of the 15 kilometers is at 17:00.
Choose from an average of 30 km. per day.
Start of the 30 kilometers is at 15:00.
Closed track free from traffic.
Completely flat and paved course.
Toilet facilities are available.

The route is different and surprising every day. It is pure enjoyment when you are walking through the various districts, each with its own characteristics. You are short of eyes and ears! It is great fun to see the singing and swinging crowd, often dressed in fantasy and colorful clothing! The many stalls along the road with the smell of different Surinamese dishes make the atmosphere pleasant and cozy. Sparkling and full of energy, you can walk unnoticed into the balmy evening.

Paramaribo's official four-day evening event takes place under the auspices of the Business Association for Sports and Games (BVSS). As a result, you can count on a good organization. You walk on a track that is clear of traffic and collective liability and accident insurance has been taken out for all participants.

Registration fee
With your registration you are not yet definitively registered. It is only final after receipt of your travel sum, registration fee or down payment.
The travel sum for the 2022 Walking Tour is from € 1,840 all inclusive pp
The registration fee for only a 4-day package is from € 27.50 pp
Early bird discount
With the early bird discount you will receive a € 50 discount on the total amount of your walking trip if you pay your full travel sum before 21-10-2021.
Of course you can also decide to make your payment after October 21, 2021. The early bird discount will then expire. We look forward to your full payment in February 2022.

Certificate
Participants can order a certificate upon registration. The costs for this are €7.50 per certificate. The backorder is €10.
You will always receive the certificate, even if you do not complete the entire 4-day course.
Pay
The deposit amount is 20% of your trip to be booked (based on two people), for this you will receive an invoice which you can pay via internet banking. Your advance will of course be deducted from your final travel sum.
 
After your payment
After receipt of your 20% down payment or the full travel sum, you will receive a full color travel and information brochure in February 2022 containing the program, a full elaboration per day, information about Suriname and general travel information regarding your walking trip. After receipt of the total travel sum, you will receive your proof of payment with the booking details and other information.
