Bivouac Nature Adventure Course

- 9:30 a.m.: review of the package, individual choice of evening bivouac mode (tent, tarp, hammock, construction of natural shelter, beautiful star)
- 10:30 a.m.: hike - orientation learning (map reading, azimuth taking, brutal azimuth exercise)
- 12:00 p.m.: meal
- 12:45 p.m.: how to find your bivouac place (map reading, terrain analysis, etc.)
- 1:15 p.m.: moving in orientation towards the bivouac place
- 1:45 p.m.: arrival on site
- all afternoon:
• site analysis
• choice of sleeping place
• useful knots
• concept of leave no trace and protection of the site (thoughtful layout, installation of toilets, personal washing, washing up, etc.)
• the different types of tents, why, how to set up your tent normally, in high winds, in the rain
• tarps, why, different types of tarp, how to mount them, different possible uses
• hammocks, why, different types, how to install them, how to sleep in them
• construction of a natural shelter
• how to organize the meal (the types stoves, site protection, campfire problem, waste management)
• how to have fun at the bivouac (testing different games)
- next morning: breakfast, camp tidying up, leave no trace concept until 10:00 a.m.

Synopsis
At the age of 21, Virgile Woisard embarked on a crossing of the Americas entirely on foot, planning to travel 27,000 km in two and a half years, from Ushuaia to the Arctic Ocean.
Debuting in September 2017, it carves its way north through some of the wildest landscapes on Earth. By walking 30 km a day in autonomy, he managed to cover the longest mountain range in the world from end to end, then cross Central America by running, to finally find the mountains in the heart of the United States. He will have to meet many challenges on this long journey, but he will also discover many natural and human treasures, and this inner journey will become the way to send a strong message for the protection of the environment.
