Sheffield Walking Festival presents a whole host of enjoyable walks for a range of abilities, with plenty to see and discover along the way. The festival celebrates all sides of Sheffield with routes of varying lengths and themes.
You can explore the city’s varied heritage and fascinating suburbs on urban strolls or venture out to Sheffield's dramatic borders that overlap with the stunning Peak District National Park for something more challenging.

Rivelin, Redmires and Reservoirs

Take in the woodlands, cloughs and moorland around and overlooking the attractive reservoirs of Redmires and Rivelin, with extensive views over to Stanage Edge and back towards the city.

The Heritage of Bolsterstone - Inventors and Archaeologists

The walk begins with a tour of the churchyard, seeing the bolsterstones and the grave of the inventor of the Paragon umbrella frame.

We then explore the village and the site of excavations of Bolsterstone Castle, and walk along the ridge up to Whitwell Moor to learn about the Ewden Valley, the Wilsons of Broomhead Hall and recent archaeological surveys. We return the same way back to the village.

Hunshelf Bank circular from Stocksbridge

Ascend to the Pea Royd Lane Viewpoint and Hunshelf Bank. Extensive views across the Upper Don Valley follow as we traverse Hunshelf Bank before reaching the Green Moor Viewpoint. We then descend to the stepping stones at the Wortley Leppings before returning via Tin Mill, the River Don and the Deepcar bridleway to Fox Valley Shopping Centre.
